Card-carrying TEXAN.

Today, I...

*walked my dog on a street called "Margaritas Way"

*went to a gun & knife show

*bought ammo

*(and a holster!)

*ate a brisket sandwich

*redeemed a gift certificate for cow hooves (That's right. Hooves.)

Born in Corpus Christi and (hoping to be) buried in Abilene,

Wow! Hmmmm, should I be a little concerned here? What's with the weapon fascination? Quite an interesting hobby for a librarian. :D

Kristy!! You've become a "bad" influence for mom!! :P ((We'll see you at the range!!))

Little does Irene know, both librarians at Madison have the same fascination. (Oh the suspense!)

I just hope you wer playing the Texas Music CD I made for you while you were doing all these Texanly things. Glad to see you among the living. I was worried when you didn't post for a while. Hope you have a good week. Paula Fulford

Um...why the hooves? I can understand the guns and ammo--after all, I live in the big city now, but hooves? That's where I draw the line! :)

Oh, y'all are cracking me up!

*No, Irene, no worries. (Unless you're breaking into my house late at night wearing a ski mask...)

*Can't wait, Jason! I'm as excited about the picnic as I am about finally getting my license to carry. Sure hope I hit the target a few times...

*Sorry, my beautiful daughter. EVERY Mom in EVERY state loves to talk to her daughter so it doesn't qualify as a Texan activity. (Did you just think of comedian Brian Regan? "Is this a good activity?")

*Paula, I packed the CD when I moved...and have yet to find it. The fun will be in the search! Thought of you this weekend when the line for Harold's BBQ was OUT THE DOOR because of ACU Homecoming!

*And Dynamic Uno, you are right. I crossed the line buying those nasty hooves. (OTOH, "Destructo Dog" hasn't eaten or ruined anything since I bought the hooves so maybe they're working!)

Let me know if you need me to send you another CD. I'm so sorry I didn't make it to Abilene back in August. I over-scheduled our trip and needed to get home. Plus, I think you were in a heavy period of transition and didn't need anything else on your plate. Hope you are doing well, and I will be back to claim the BarBQ one of these days.

What are you doing the first weekend in Nov? I was thinking of taking a little roadtrip with one of my friends to abilene. I might need a place to stay on Friday night, but i'm not sure yet. Let me know if you are busy or not!

Oh Kristy Kristy Kristy! You are not the same Northern gal I met in the 80's. But that's okay....you're even BETTER!! It cracks me up every time I hear you talk of Texas in these terms!

When I finally DO come to Abilene to visit....should I wear a bullet proof vest? Send me your new address!! Love you TONS!!
Linda (your imaginary friend)

Did this blog create controversy, or what? 9 comments? I've never gotten that many :)

HA! You're right...this has to be an all-time high on the Comments count. Maybe it's because I revealed that I bought hooves on the same day I ate brisket.

That's kinda gross.
