Count me IN! I know my parents and (AMAZING) siblings will be so relieved that they won't be getting a lame tie or knick-knack mailed from Texas this year. (Right, Russ? Remember how much you liked those stuffed Mexican frogs?)
So, anyway, this year, the grownups in my family are only getting a Christmas card, but my nieces and nephews are all getting DVDs. Cinema classics that everyone should watch! (Also known as "lame ones.")

I LOVE IT!!! What a great idea!
How could I forget the year of the frogs? And Flinger? Your best gifts were inadvertent and musical. You introduced me to Peter Gabriel, The Police, Terence Trent D'arby, Natalie Merchant, etc.
Huzzah! And don't forget the winter you & Bethany PLUMB WORE OUT that Patsy Cline cassette tape while you roasted marshmallows in front of the fire...
I've always loved giving the homemade Christmas gifts best (jellies, ornaments, movie & popcorn or other snack!!
Hey, by the way... I know one of your favorite Chistmas movies is Scrooge... but what year was the original one made? 1950 something? I'm keeping my eyes open for a copy that isn't Muppets or Disney... (as tempting as they may be! LOL)
Ooops,rather "A Christmas Carol"...
we've always called it 'Scrooge'.
Okay, you want the 1953(?) version starring Alastair Sim as Scrooge, the one Gene Shalit described "as the single enduring" version of _A Christmas Carol_!
And he's not alone! Not only is this the version I showed my 7th graders after we'd read the book, but check out these 2 editorial reviews:
"...This flick is not only the gold standard against which all other holiday films should be measured, but also one of the greatest films ever made, period..."
Entertainment Weekly - Leah Reisman-Senes (12/12/2003)
"[T]his is the definitive choice among all the feature versions....Alastair Sim, gimlet-eyed and gleefully acidulous, is Scrooge..."
Wall Street Journal (11/06/2009)
I loved the video...and it fits your sweet heart, Kristy. Remember when we worked at the Train Station in Danville, a couple of Christmasses...??
Dad
I have Patrick Stewart's Scrooge, now.
