Forget Winter Wonderland...more like Icy Death Trap.

The neighborhood.

Okay, enough's enough. I haven't left the house since Friday afternoon...because I CAN'T! Last night, the police chief and the KTAB news anchor both said the streets are more dangerous than anyone can ever remember, and for the first time, the word "impassable" was being bandied about.

My favorite neighborhood mailbox.

A close second.

Freezy. Lemme see you put your tongue on that.

Will NOT open. You can see where I broke the ice trying to get in this morning. Will try again at 1:00 or at 5 p.m., when we're supposed to reach our daily *high* of 31 degrees.

Neighbor's frozen cedar.

Neighborhood walkabout. Can you see frozen berries?

Ooh...better icy berries in this one.

Frozen pampas grass.

More frozen pampas...next to a fence with a "Beware of Dog" sign. (I risked a limb so you could see how pretty it was outside this morning!)

Those are neat, but no mailbox compares to the one down the street from me. In yo' face.

She's right. It's a giant gun.

Will get a picture someday...

Well, today's pics appear to be warmer. A few days of this is exactly what I'd expect a book and blanket lover like you would enjoy. Wish I were there to scrape your icy windshield.

Speaking of mailboxes, I saw a really neat one in Albany. Do you remember our stopping to take a picture of it? It was on the road that ran alongside the high school's football field.

I wish I could see right now the house we liked that was beside the Episcopal church in Albany, with all the big trees around it. All that ice and snow may have wreaked havoc with that new roof as it bent the trees' limbs low. I hope no damage was done to either trees or roof.

Love to "all y'all," and to Albany, too,
Mom
