Did you know that Bobo was a member of the Audubon Society? I remember our family riding out to Chapman Ranch--a large land holding belonging to relatives of the King family of "King Ranch" fame--to observe the migrating birds every fall...whooping cranes, Canada geese, etc. He enjoyed watching curlews with their long, curved bills, too. Your grandfather is pleased that you've taken to bird-watching! Love, Mom
WHAT? No, I didn't know that! A tall Swede, a reader, a word lover, a bird watcher, a people-watcher who never met a stranger, an animal lover, an elder in the church...what a lovely, lovely man.
It seems I'm a "fowler" on BOTH sides of the family...
