Little presents

I prayed myself to sleep last night, wrestling with inner conflicts and asking God for guidance and wisdom and patience and faith. As I prayed, a distracting light kept shining in my eyes. Finally getting up and peering through the blinds, I was amazed by the beauty of the moon through the pecan branches outside my bedroom window...a lovely reminder that He is in control and on watch and more majestic and powerful than any other king and that I should go get some sleep. (And I did!)

And then, this morning as I was cleaning ("cleaning" to me means trying to part with things because of Chronic Packrat Tendencies), I came upon another lesson He had planned for me, courtesy of my precious niece. Last month, Sporty Niece (photo above) accidentally left her Sunday School artwork in my car, a door hanger where she had written a Bible verse--Phillipians 4:19, "God will supply my needs." Inside, she had written her WANTS on one card...

and her NEEDS on the other...

What a great reminder that His children will be okay, no matter what happens. As long as we have our Needs card filled, everything else is just "desserts and a puppy."

(Please remind me of this as often as needed!!) :-)

So, go ahead and fill out your "needs" card and see what you will have on it :-)

Hang it on your mirror and you will be reminded every day too.

Just keep believing!

What a lovely posting! A precious photo of "Little Bit," combined with the humble confessions of a lovely--and much loved--aunt and daughter whose mother is VERY proud of her!

Psalm 121 says:
"My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
...The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore."

I pray for you and thank God for you, my lovely daughter! I rest in the knowledge that He loved you first and that His arms are long enough to reach you all the way out "on the lone prairie," even if mine are not.

Blessings,
Mom

You brought a tear to my eye. (A tear of hope) We ALL need the constant reminder that God is in total control in what seems like an out of control life. Thanks for sharing... Keep your eyes focused on HIM!

Love,
Melanie

Very good thoughts, Kris. It takes a searching eye to find the silver lining on each cloud.
You reminded me of Taylor's list she handed me two weeks ago of things she was afraid of. On it were, "changing classes, having lockers, and mean teachers" among other things. An "afraid of.." list isn't a bad idea either. Get it out, give it up, and let God carry the load.
Love you.
